Revival is coming to United Kingdom

The Lord gave me this word on the 27th of November 2011.

“I am the Lord, I do not change. I do not share my glory with any man. I have called you. I am with you. You are my battle axe. I take over the land. I take over the nation. Those who were not looking for me will find me. Those who did not know me before will know me. This nation will be identified in me. I am your identity, United Kingdom I am your God and King. I am enthroned in this nation. You will serve me. The knowledge of my glory will fill your heart. This nation will be like a shining star. Revival is coming to this nation. Wait for it like the latter rain. It will not tarry. Get ready, be prepared my children. I will revive this nation. My light will shine through you and those in darkness will see the light come. Get ready for this rain.”

The Lord God has a good plan and purpose for this nation. The Christians are the body of Christ that God is going to use. He wants us to come together in prayer for the coming revival. When we pray great things will begin to happen. The angels of God are waiting for us to start praying for this nation. As we pray, the angels of God will ascend to the throne of God to bring down the answers to our request. If we don’t pray, then nothing will happen. Our prayer is the preparation for this coming revival. This revival will surely come even as Noah’s flood. Noah prepared for the flood by building an ark according to God’s instructions. Noah’s flood came to destroy, but the Lord’s revival is coming to bring life and fruitfulness to this nation. This revival will bring a rich and satisfying life.

The Lord is willing to help us by his Spirit. The Lord will stretch out his hands with healing power. Miraculous signs and wonders will be done through the name of Jesus Christ the Messiah. Those who do not believe in the existence of the living God will be arrested by the power of the Holy Spirit. The knowledge of the glory of God will fill this nation as waters cover the sea. The wind of the glory of God will begin to blow from Northern Ireland and Scotland, down to Wales and England.

Join us at The Overcomers Christian Church of God, Holy Trinity Church Building, Bushey Mill Lane, Bushey, Hertfordshire, WD23 2AS every Tuesdays from 6am-7am. Come and pray for just 1hr in the mornings before you go to work. Prayer meeting starts on Tuesday the 3rd of January 2012. Remember when you pray for your nation you are praying for yourself. Shalom!

 Enjoy the blessings of God.

The Greatest Invitation

On the morning of 10th November 2011, God spoke His word to my hearing. I believe these words are for every man on this earth. It is for those born of a woman and also for those who now have the 2nd birth by the power of the Holy Spirit.

John 1:13: “who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

If you are a human being and you inhabit the surface of this earth, this invitation is for you. It is a message of peace because God has made peace with the heavens and the earth by the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Colossians 1:20: New Living Translation (NLT): “and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.”

Now let’s begin to read the greatest invitation from God.

I am the Lord, I do not change. I do not share My glory with any man. I dwell in My temple and My throne is established forever. I see and know all things. Man kind, how long will I call that you will not answer? How long have I beckoned but you ignored Me. You are blind and deaf to the extent that you cannot comprehend spiritual things. I wish your eyes are opened to see and your ears opened to hear. I have loved you with eternal love. Why don’t you seek this love? Why don’t you seek Me with all your heart? I reveal Myself to those who seek me with a pure heart. I have all things ready. Come and dine with Me. Come and eat at My table. All things have been prepared for you My children. Come and receive sight so that you can see clearly. Come and let your ears be opened to my voice. I have loved you dearly. There are so many things you need to see, to hear and understand. I will not cast away anyone who comes to me. I love you My children. I have died for you. I have given you hope. Come and drink from the river of salvation. Come and enjoy My presence. Everything you ever need has been given to you. Enjoy My presence. I want to share My heart with you. I want to show you great and mighty things you do not know. My children come to Me, come to Me. I have loved you with My everlasting love.

Why am I here? Part 2

We are here to fulfil the purpose of God on earth. God had you in his mind before the foundation of the world. You come into the fullness of God’s purpose for your life only when you are in Christ Jesus. You have been called by God for good works. You have been called by God to be a solution in your generation.

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

It usually becomes difficult to fulfil the purpose of God of God on earth, without having the devil to contend with. This is because his mission is to destroy every good work that God has called you to do on earth. God has however, provided everything you need to succeed even in the presence of your enemies. When you are in Christ, the enemy has no power over you.

Psalm 23:5a “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.”

God wants you to focus on what he has provided and not on the enemy. This attitude is called faith. The threat the enemy poses does not matter. Instead, what matters is your focus. Focus on the word of God and what it says about you, and it will surely come to pass in your life. God has put everything under our feet because we are made in his image. We have been given authority over all things.

Genesis 9:2 “And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the air, on all that move on the earth, and on all the fish of the sea. They are given into your hand.”

The enemy knows that we as Christians have power and authority, but we can be ignorant of what we have. When we fail to use what we have, then we might not be able to enjoy the things that God has freely given us. The children of Israel were commanded by God to walk through the land of Canaan because he had given it to them. The Israelites nonetheless, looked small in their own eyes and the people of Canaan looked more powerful to them. Whatever you focus on usually becomes magnified. They failed to possess the land of Canaan due to fear, but little did they know that the Canaanites were afraid of them. Israel wasted 40 years in the wilderness walking round because they were afraid of their enemies.

Joshua 2:10-11 “For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed. And as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the LORD your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.”

The Canaanites were already shaken with fear when they heard about Israel. The Israelites could have overcome the Canaanites easily if they had acted upon the word of God. The book of 2 Timothy 1:7 says that “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Everything that will not allow you to live a fulfilled life is under your feet. Focus on the promises of God for your life and victory is surely yours in Jesus name.”

Why am I here? Part 1

Many of us know why we have taken up a job or why we have relocated to certain parts of the country or nation or why he have married our spouses, but many still don’t know why we are here in this world.

God has put us here so that his purpose will be fulfilled in our lives. Many who are not aware that God exists will find it difficult to believe that he placed man on the earth for his own pleasure and glory. The only way that we give God pleasure and glory, is when we are fruitful and take dominion over all the works of his hands.

Genesis 1:26 “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

Genesis 1:31a “Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good."

God takes pleasure in the works of his hands and also when man is in dominion. When he sees you living in dominion, God says it is very good. The world however is now in a fallen state because of sin. Dominion and fruitfulness only comes through Jesus Christ the saviour of the world.

John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

To be in Christ, is to identify with him in his death and resurrection and continue living and walking in him. This is known as salvation from sin, bondage, sicknesses and poverty. Jesus Christ is an overcomer and when we remain in him, we also overcome. He described himself as the vine of a tree, whilst those who believe and trust in him - he described as the branches. The same life that flows through the vine also flows through every branch that remains in him. As he is, so are we in this world. (1John 4:17)

John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

You will not move into the purpose of God for your life on earth, until you become born again by believing in your heart that Jesus is the son of God, that he died for your sins and rose again to make you have a right standing with God. The book of John 10:10 clearly state the devil’s job description. He is a thief, a murderer and a destroyer.
Abundant life through dominion only comes through Christ Jesus. When you are in Christ, you receive the power to become a child of God and you receive the authority to have dominion over all the works of the enemy.

Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

God does not derive any pleasure from sin, sickness, slavery and poverty. He only takes pleasure in people who stand in Christ by faith and overcome in all circumstances.

1 John 5:4 “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”

We are born again when we remain in the risen Christ who is the first born from the dead. Anyone who is born again is born of God, and he is an overcomer. Our God given purpose is fulfilled here on earth only by faith. I pray that we begin to use the measure of faith that the Lord has given us, so that more faith will be multiplied unto us to live in this world as an overcomer.

Total Victory in God’s presence. Part 2

In the presence of God is the anointing and this is his power. I heard Benny Hinn talk about the sheep in Israel being rubbed with olive oil to keep the bugs off. Bugs can be likened to demonic activity or enemies of man. Fire goes before the Lord and consumes all his enemies. Anointing keeps the bugs off your life. If you are a child of God, then all your enemies become his enemies and they are consumed by God’s fire as you learn to be in his presence.

Galatians 5:1- "Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage".

Many people want solution to their problems but not necessarily God. They want God only on their own terms. Many go from one deliverance service to another but instead of their problem getting better, it gets worse. It is only the presence of God that gives total victory.

Luke 11:24-26 - “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.”

We need to be completely full of the Holy Spirit so that the enemy will have no place in our lives. We need to be more intimate with his word, meditating on his word until his word becomes part of us. We must stop using the word of God as “chewing gum” because chewing gum is not swallowed and so does not become part of the body.

James 1:21b - "Receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls".

Until the word of God is planted in our hearts, we will not benefit from it. It is the word of God that has already become part of us that can deliver us in hard times. If you are still struggling in any area of your life, then you need more of the presence of God.

1 John 4:17-18- "Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love".

If you are still living in fear and condemnation then you need more of God. Wounded hearts are healed, word curses are destroyed, and evil ties are broken in the presence of God. The bible says that as Christ is, so are we in this world. If we are not as Christ yet even though in our spirit man we are like him, then we need more of him. Time spent with God is not wasted time but it is sowing time and we will reap in due time if we do not give up.

Total victory in God’s presence. Part 1

The Lord God of heaven is mighty. In his presence is fullness of joy and at his right hand are pleasures for evermore. You cannot experience God’s presence and be the same again. John the beloved beheld the glory of God and his life was not the same again.

Revelation 1:17 - "And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last".

When John saw the Lord, everything carnal in him died. His life changed, his heart was transformed and the Holy Spirit was in total control of his life. It was after this experience that he wrote the epistle and the gospel of John.

It is a good thing to desire the Lord and be conscious of his presence. In his presence is the knowledge of him and everything that we need for life and godliness. We become partakers of his divine nature the more we encounter him and this makes us godlier.

2 Peter 1: 2-4 - "Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust".

The power to live a godly life is obtained in God’s presence. The bible talked about a certain man who had an infirmity for 38 years. Jesus healed him but then he did not recognise Jesus and he did not make any effort to find out about the person that showed him this great compassion until the Jews started questioning him.

John 5:8-14 - Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath. The Jews therefore said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.” He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your bed and walk.” Then they asked him, “Who is the Man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?” But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place. Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.” The man departed and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.

Jesus told this man to go and sin no more. The power to sin no more however lies in the presence of God. Jesus had to warn this man seriously about going back into sin because he failed to seek Jesus who has the power to make him live a godly life.

I heard that about 90% of those who are healed in healing services ultimately lose their healing. This I believe happened because they did not continue to seek God. When the enemy came back they did not have the power to resist him. Blind Bartimaeus followed Jesus after he was healed (Mark 10:52). The Gadarene demoniac’s heart reached out to Jesus after he was healed (Mark 5:18). Certain women followed Jesus after they were delivered of demons (Luke 8: 1-3). In the presence of God there is total freedom from sin, sickness, slavery, poverty, and religion.

Levels of relationship with God

God is the creator of heaven and earth. He created man in the beginning to have an intimate relationship with him. This relationship was going well between God and Adam in the Garden of Eden, until sin was found in Adam. Even though physical relationship with God continued, Adam could not relate with God again with his sprit and so found it difficult to comprehend the things of God. God however, continued to seek relationship with man. If you study the bible, you will discover four different kinds of relationships that people can have with God.

1. The first level is when man relates with God as Almighty, the creator of heaven and earth. Man perceives himself only as one of God’s creatures - his workmanship. He is aware of God’s sovereignty, might and power. Man believes that he can only worship God from a distance and he is only familiar with the thunderous voice of God saying “thou shall not do this or that.” This kind of relationship is usually with great fear.

2. The second level is when man relates with God as his Lord and master. You obey him because of his royal position and you perceive him as the head. In this kind of relationship, there is usually conversation between man and God. Most of the prophets in the bible had this kind of relationship with God. You don’t really know much about the master’s business; your duty is to follow instructions. In this kind of relationship you have the perception that God loves you according to your performance.

Exodus 6: 2-3 - And God spoke to Moses and said to him: “I am the LORD. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name LORD I was not known to them.

God appeared to Moses as Lord, but to Abraham he appeared to as God. You will however discover in Genesis 18 that when Abraham continued to grow deeper in his relationship with God, he eventually knew God as his Lord.

3. The third level is man relating to God as his father. In this kind of relationship all God has is yours and all you have is his. This father and son relationship has been made possible by our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the first born son of God and he has brought us into his inheritance as adopted children of God when we believe in the gospel. In this type of relationship, there is no fear and so we have boldness to come before God. Children of God are being led by the Spirit of God. The father loves you not because of your performance but because you are his son.

Romans 8:14-16 - For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.

Some children are only after what they can get from their dad and they don’t have their dad’s interest at heart. The story of the prodigal son in the book of Luke 15:11- 32 is a good example. I believe that for many years, the prodigal son had a servant mentality. He then woke up one morning and realised that he was a son. The first thing that came to his mind was the entitlement to him as a son. He did not take time to process the father and son relationship and what is expected of him as a son. The only thing that attracted him was what he could gain from that relationship. The elder brother to the prodigal son also had a servant mentality, because unconsciously he was rendering service to his father to gain his father’s love and favour. He was not aware that all the father had was his and all he needed to do was ask. Luke 15:29-31.

4. The forth level is man relating to God as his friend. I believe that this is the deepest kind of relationship you can think of. God revealed himself to Moses as Lord but Moses continued seek God until they became friends.

Exodus 33:11a - “So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.”

Abraham also eventually become a friend of God because he continued to seek God and their relationship became deeper.

Isaiah 41:8 - “But you Israel are My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, The descendants of Abraham My friend.”

John 15:14-15 - "You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you".

The relationship between David and Jonathan was stronger than the relationship Jonathan had with Saul who was his father. Friends of God are often in the secret place with Him. That is the place where God shares His heart with them. We need to go deeper in our relationship with God. The God of heaven and earth wants to be our Lord in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ died to reconcile us back to God so that we can become adopted children of God. Hence, as children of God we receive the Holy Spirit who is our comforter, helper and teacher. He invites us to walk with him (Romans 8:4-5) because he wants to be our friend. The Holy Spirit has some many things in stock that he reveals to his friends. Are you ready to be one of them? Begin today by seeking him in the secret place.

Hallowed be Thy Name

Jesus Christ taught his disciples to pray and this model of prayer is found in the book of Mathew chapter 6.

Matthew 6:9-19: “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

The will of God for the earth, is to be as it is in heaven. He wants the reign of his kingdom in heaven to extend to the earth. This happens when man cooperates with God by coming into agreement with him. When man begins to hallow the name of God and lift him high, very soon, God shows up and reveals his glory. His glory is revealed in so many ways especially in miracles, signs, wonders, peace, joy, pleasures and blessings. I believe that the manifestation of the kingdom of God depends on the extent of how much his name is hallowed. How much is God’s name hallowed by our thoughts, words and actions? How much regard or respect do we give to him? Do we esteem him higher than everything else?

The level of our reverence to God depends on how much we know him. If we don’t know that something is of value, we tend to pay less attention to it. Things that we know are of value are usually greatly treasured by us. Look at the examples given in the bible.

Matthew 13:44: Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

This man knew that what he found in that field was a treasure and that is why he bought the field. Many people had the opportunity to buy the field, but they did not because they failed to identify the treasure in it.

Matthew 13:45-46: Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

This man wouldn’t have found anything had he not searched. He searched, he found and then was able to identify what he found as very precious and he gave all he had to have it.

We would know how precious and wonderful God is when we begin to seek him. The bible says that when we seek God, we will find him. He wants us to come to him with all confidence and without fear. That is why he wants us to be reconciled back to him through Jesus Christ his son, who was crucified on the cross for our sins. Jesus Christ has reconciled us back to God, who has adopted us as his children. We can only know much about God when we identify him as our father. In this kind of relationship, there is no fear and we are being led by the Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:14-16: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.”

In this relationship, all God has is yours because he is your father and all you have is his. You honour him as God; respect him as your master but also you are free to approach his presence because you are his son. You have the confidence because his spirit in you is bearing witness that you are his child. “Our Father in heaven hallowed be thy name.” As you hallow his name, expect his kingdom to manifest in that situation or that circumstance in your life. In God’s kingdom, impossibilities become possibilities, disabilities turn into abilities, tests are converted to testimonies and obstacles turn out to be stepping stones unto the next level in your life that will bring great honour and glory to God.

The Power of God’s Love

The love of God for man has been before the existence of man. In fact, God’s love has been before the foundation of the world. God has loved you even before you got inside your mother’s womb. He has loved you before you knew right from wrong and also when you began to make the wrong choices. The love he has for you is the same love he has for Jesus Christ. God can never cease to love you because he can never cease to love Jesus.

John 17:23-24 (New King James Version) “I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.”

The love of God is unconditional. It does not depend on what you have done but on what Jesus Christ has done to save you. He will always love you even when you don’t love, or acknowledge Him as God. This is because love cannot be separated from God. If this happens then God ceases to exist and you know that this is impossible.

When Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, they were in constant fellowship with God. When they sinned against God, their spirit became separated from God and the continuous fellowship that they enjoyed ceased. This separation then placed man in a spiritually dead position. This spiritual death has been inherited by the human race because of the sin that Adam committed. There is no person on earth that can rescue man from this problem because everybody is a sinner.

Romans 3:23 (New King James Version) “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

The love that God has for man before the foundation of the world continues to prevail after the sin of Adam. He continued to long for fellowship with man. God is a spirit and the bible says that those that worship him must do so in spirit and truth. The spirit of man needs to be alive in order to have a continuous relationship and fellowship with God.

John 4:24 (New King James Version) “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

God had to look for a way to bring man back to continuous fellowship with him. God knew that Salvation cannot be achieved by man, so God came in the flesh in the person of Jesus Christ. He lived a sinless life. His death on the cross put him in the position that man is in the spirit - which is spiritual death. He however rose from the dead. Whosoever believes that Jesus Christ died on the cross for his sins and that His resurrection makes him justified before God, will also receive resurrection of his spirit man. This is what is known as being born again.

Once you believe in the completed work of Jesus Christ on the cross, nothing else can hold you down. Your dead sprit will be revived and you will start to enjoy a continuous fellowship with God. You are no longer under the bondage of sin, sickness and slavery. It was not possible for the chains of death to hold Jesus down and so He was raised from the dead. Likewise it is not possible for the chains of death, sin, sickness or slavery to hold you down. All these happened as a result of the power of God’s love for you.

Acts 2:23-24 (New King James Version) “Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.”

The power of God’s love will continue to bring victory to you if you believe in His love and you are fully persuaded that nothing can separate you from God’s love. The love of God has overcome death. His love has overcome sin, sickness, diseases, bondage, slavery and everything that is not of God that might be manifesting in your life. If you are fully persuaded of His love then you will believe that He is always for you and not against you. This makes the faith in you to begin to work because faith works by love.

The Best Religion that pleases God

There are many religions in this world. To name a few we have, Baha'i, Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Rastafarian, Judaism, Shinto, Sikhism, Taoism, Wicca, Zoroastrianism, and Druidism. It shouldn’t be a surprise to know that every religion including Christianity is manmade. Christianity is based on the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. The disciples of Jesus were called Christians for the first time when they were in Antioch. They were called Christians by people who were not Christians themselves. They were called Christians by men and not by God.

Acts 11:25-26 (New King James Version) “Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul. And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.”

The Christian religion has grown so large to the extent that there are now more than 30,000 denominations. Which of these denominations is God pleased with? I will define religion as man’s way of reaching out to God. Man does this by following rules and regulations. They add a bit of the teachings of Jesus, a few add the teachings of Moses, and some include a bit of the word of God that suits them.

These principles are good in themselves because they discipline the flesh but they do not have the power to change the desires of man. Sets of rules and regulations cannot please God. The Christian religion began according to the move and the will of God. However, within a short period men began to add their own ideas and methods. Religion is the work of the flesh and by the work of the flesh, no man can please God.

Romans 8:8 (New King James Version) “So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”

When man ties himself down by religion, he is unconsciously putting himself under the law. If the law given by God to the children of Israel was difficult to keep, how much more the law imposed by men to reach out to God? The children of Israel were under the law for thousands of years and God was not pleased with many of them.

Romans 3:20 (New King James Version) “Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”

The Law was given by God so that man will eventually come to the understanding that he needs help from God, to live a life pleasing and acceptable to Him. The law was given as a deflection to the saviour and this is Christ Jesus.

Galatians 3:24 (New King James Version) “Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.”

Man’s effort cannot be acceptable to God until man comes under the grace available through our Lord Jesus Christ. This is God coming down to man and not man trying to reach out to God. There isn’t complete truth in any religion. Religion is like adding yeast to dough. The yeast mixes with the whole dough and changes its consistency. God is divine and so we need divine ability to relate to Him. Grace can be defined as the divine ability given by God to do things outside our ability.

John 1:17 (New King James Version) “For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”

There is now no religion that can locate God. God can only be located by his Spirit. Who knows what is in your mind except your spirit that resides within you. Likewise the things of God can only be discerned by the Spirit of God.

1 Corinthians 2:11 (New King James Version) “For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.”

How can we connect with the Spirit of God to reveal the things of God to us? The spirit of God comes to dwell in whosoever believes that Jesus Christ died for their sins and that Jesus Christ rose from the dead so that they will be justified before God. We are only justified through faith in the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Acts 2:38-39 (New King James Version) “Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

To conclude, when the Holy Spirit resides in you then he begins to guide you and reveal the mind of God to you even as you ask Him. You will then be led by the Spirit of God and not by the dictates of your flesh. The Holy Spirit cannot be contained because he moves freely according to the will of God. It is a constant flow and you receive from Him as you learn to rely and depend on Him.

1 Corinthians 2:12 (New King James Version) “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.”

The Empty Tomb

Matthew 28:1-8 (New King James Version) “Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning and his clothing as white as snow. And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come; see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.” So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.”

The above story is amazing. Now imagine the two women after hearing the good news, continued looking for Jesus inside the tomb. They wouldn’t have found him there and they would have remained unhappy, lonely and disappointed.

When Jesus Christ was nailed to the cross, our old sinful nature that brought diseases, poverty and bondages was nailed to that cross with him. In the tomb, our old sinful nature was with him. When he rose from the dead we rose with him as a new man, a new creation. He is now seated at the right hand of God the Father which is a place of authority and we are seated together with him. So when we as Christians have issues or challenges in our lives, the best place for us to focus on is the throne of God. This is because he has overcome for us. When we look unto him we find victory.

Hebrews 12:2 (New King James Version) “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

When you continue to look at the problem instead of the solution, then unconsciously you are looking at the empty tomb. There cannot be any solution in the empty tomb and so focusing on it is a futile exercise. When the children of Israel were bitten by snakes in the wilderness, God commanded Moses to make a bronze serpent and place it on a pole so that anyone who looks up at the serpent would not die. Some of them continued to look at their wounds and they died. As many as focused their attention on the bronze serpent lived. The action that Moses took was in response to the word of God.

In every circumstance and situations, the word of God must be our focus. Whatever he has said about your situation is the truth. What you might be seeing now might be contrary to the word of God. It might be the fact, but it is only the truth that can set you free. Continue to speak the truth and focus on Jesus and your deliverance is sure.

Acts 2:23-24 (New King James Version) “Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.”

It was not possible for the chains of death to hold Jesus down. As he is, so are you in this world (1John 4:17). It is not possible for the chains of death, sickness, poverty, slavery, condemnation, sin, shame, bitterness, to hold you down. The same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is working within you. Set your mind on Christ and all that he has accomplished for you.

The Word of God Revealed Part 2

In the previous blog, I talked about the word of God being the greatest force in the universe. Everything in heaven and earth are held together by the word of God. Without the word of God nothing can exist. The city of Jerusalem is the centre of the earth and in the centre of Jerusalem is God’s temple. In the centre of the temple is the holy of holies; in the centre of the holy of holies is the Ark of the Covenant. In the centre of the Ark of the Covenant is the covenant itself which contains the word of God. The word of God is the centre of the world; if it is taken out then the world cannot stand.

Until the word of God is revealed to us, it will be difficult for us to know its power and how the word of God works in our lives. Revelation comes from the Lord himself by the help of the Holy Spirit. It is when we come to Christ in total submission, that the veil preventing us from understanding the word of God is removed from our eyes. Turning to the Lord is more than responding to an altar call. It is total dependence and reliance on God.

If we continue to be tied down by religion and traditions, then we are placing ourselves under the law that Christ has delivered us from. Doctrines of men blind their eyes and it becomes difficult to comprehend the word of God which can only be comprehended by the spirit of God. When we study the word of God in a legalistic way, then the same veil that covered the eyes of the Jews under the law will also cover our eyes. However, when we read the word of God with the eyes of faith which comes by the grace of God, then the veil covering our eyes will be removed to see the mysteries, power, wisdom, riches, goodness, sweetness and many other blessings in the word of God. The psalmist says “taste and see that the Lord is good.”

2 Corinthians 3:15-18 (New King James Version) “But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

Once you get hold of the word of God, hold on to it as a lion holds on to its prey. Keep saying it, keep talking it and do not let it be erased out of your mind until your desires are met. The word of God is like a light shining in darkness. Keep holding onto it until darkness disappears and every area of your life is flooded with the light of God’s word. You then begin to walk in the light of God. Maintaining your life with the word of God now becomes easy because every part of you is filled with his light.

Peter 1:19
(New King James Version) “And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.”

Let the word of God dwell in you richly. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Open your mouth and continue to frame your life by the word of God. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. You reap the fruit of whichever you choose.

The Word of God Revealed

The word of God is the greatest force in the universe. Everything in heaven and earth are held together by the word of God. Without the word of God nothing can exist. Do you know that the city of Jerusalem is the centre of the earth? In the centre of Jerusalem is God’s temple. In the centre of the temple is the holy of holies; in the centre of the holy of holies is the Ark of the Covenant. In the centre of the Ark of the Covenant is the covenant itself which contains the word of God. The word of God is the centre of the world; if it is taken out then the world cannot stand.

Hebrews 11:3 (New King James Version) “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”

The worlds were framed by the word of God. This includes all things that exist on the surface of this earth. You and I are not exceptions. It is high time we began to frame our lives according to the word of God. You don’t need to wait until things become pear shaped before you start speaking the word of God into your life and into the lives of your loved ones.

The word of God is available for your use in your mouth and in your heart. Start confessing what the word of God says about you. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you. Allow him to help you to pray. The more you pray in the spirit, the more the revelation of the word of God that comes to you. Revelation of the word of God makes the word of God become part of you. The word of God becomes sealed in your heart where the enemy cannot steal it.

John 1: 1-3 & verse 14 (New King James Version) “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Jesus Christ is the word of God and he holds all things together. He is the only one who would put your broken life together if you allow him. If he holds the whole world together then it is a wise decision to place your life in his hands. Allow him to be the centre of your life and your life will conform to the will of God for you. A life without Jesus is an empty life.

Psalm 23 (New King James Version) “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures.”

The most important thing is to allow our Lord Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Saviour. He is the only one who leads a man as a shepherd leads his sheep. You become his sheep when you begin to follow him. He is the one who makes a man to lie down and relax in the truth of his word. The place where a man lies has become his home, his resting place, a place of comfort and shelter. The lying down position is a position of absolute reliance and surrender.

This is a position of faith in the word of God and his promises. Stop struggling to make yourself lie down in the green pastures of his word. It is the Lord himself who makes you do this as you rely on him and not on your own ability.

Relax in the Lord and allow him to bring revelation to you through his word. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. You reap the fruit of which ever you choose out of the two. Start today by framing your life with his word. All the years that the locust and the cankerworms have eaten will be restored back to you.

Stay connected

Imagine yourself using an iron. You’ve removed the plug after ironing and suddenly you remember that there are other clothes that need ironing. Without delay, you’ve continued ironing one of your dresses without making sure that the iron is plugged to the socket. Initially, you might not see any difference but as the iron begins to cool down you would notice that the wrinkles on the dress are not straightened out. It then becomes a worthless effort continuing with the ironing without plugging the iron to the socket. However, as soon as the iron is plugged in, it becomes hot enough to do the job.

The same way that the iron received energy when plugged in, we also receive life and power when we are connected to Christ. He is the source of life, because he has life in himself. When we are connected to Christ, then we receive his life.

John 5:26 (New King James Version) “For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself.”

We stay connected to Christ by abiding in him and his word. Abiding in Christ means to have regular fellowship with the Holy Spirit, to abide in his presence, spending quality time with him and our hearts being in total submission to him. When we stay connected to Christ, we stay connected to life.
The word of God has life in itself and we already have this life in us. However, the extent in which we abide in his word equates to the more of his life that flows into us

John 6:63 (New King James Version) “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.”

The above statement is spoken by Jesus Christ himself to all who care to listen. The word of God is the greatest force in the universe. It is the power that holds all things in place. This word must be in our hearts, and we must live by the principles of the word of God. The way that the Holy Spirit has helped me to abide in Christ is by being totally dependent on him. I now share everything with Him. It is a daily walk with him. He is always faithful to give a clearer picture of what is going on in my life. He also gives a perfect revelation of the word of God and its application to my life.

There is no other way apart from Christ and the life he gives. Stop wasting your time with religion and tradition because they enslave. Receive a fresh word from him regularly and let Christ direct the course of your life.

Galatians 5:1 (New King James Version) “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.”

The Lost Axe Head

There is a story in the bible about the sons of the prophets who borrowed an axe. The axe head fell into the river as they were using it to fell trees. The problem was identified immediately and help was sought from Prophet Elisha. The axe head was retrieved and the sons of the prophet were able to continue with their work.

2 Kings 6:1-7 “And the sons of the prophets said to Elisha, “See now, the place where we dwell with you is too small for us. Please, let us go to the Jordan, and let every man take a beam from there, and let us make there a place where we may dwell.” So he answered, “Go.” Then one said, “Please consent to go with your servants.” And he answered, “I will go.” So he went with them. And when they came to the Jordan, they cut down trees. But as one was cutting down a tree, the iron ax head fell into the water; and he cried out and said, “Alas, master! For it was borrowed.” So the man of God said, “Where did it fall?” And he showed him the place. So he cut off a stick, and threw it in there; and he made the iron float. Therefore he said, “Pick it up for yourself.” So he reached out his hand and took it.”

It is the axe head that gives identity to the axe. Without the axe head, the axe loses its identity. What is the use of an axe without a head? It will cease to be called an axe but rather an ordinary stick. What can you cut with a stick? Without the axe head the work cannot continue. If you try to continue, it will be hard labour, no progress and a lot of frustration.

The axe head can be likened to Christ. Without him, man loses his identity in God. He is the power and the wisdom of God. He is the express image of the living God. He is the way, the truth and the life. He is the light of the world. Living your life and doing things without a relationship with him is like cutting down a tree with an axe without a head. More time is spent, more energy is expended and little or nothing is achieved. Every man on the surface of this earth needs Christ because he is the only person who gives meaning to our lives.

If you are already a Christian you still need to depend on him every day. Christians must stop expecting God to follow the plans that they have made for themselves. Instead, he wants us to be fully dependent on him. This becomes easy when we form a relationship with him and involve him in every area of our lives. We must stop running our lives without him.

The axe head can also be likened to the word of God. Without the word of God in our hearts, life becomes a struggle. This is because the word of God is our inheritance and a great substance to hold onto. It is only the word of God that gives victory in this wicked and sinful generation. The word of God is very powerful to heal, to give sight to the blind, to liberate those who are bound by the deceptions of the enemy. The word of God likened to the axe head cuts off what is not of God in our lives. It cuts through obstacles and barriers making way in those places where you have lost hope.

The word of God is alive. It has all the seven characteristics of living things. Living things respire and so does the word of God because God breathes on it. All living things feed in order to derive energy. The word of God derives its energy from the power of God. Living things grow; however the growth of the word of God is unlimited compared to any living thing on earth.

Living things move; the word of God moves at a great speed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Living things respond; the word of God responds when spoken in faith. Living things excrete; there is no waste product in the word of God which signifies its purity. All living things have the ability to reproduce. The word of God is produced by God himself; so it has the ability to reproduce itself wherever it is sent.

Hebrews 4:12 (New King James Version) “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Your prayer becomes more effective when you use the word of God. If the word of God is not used, it will be like cutting down a tree without the axe head. Do you know that praying in the spirit is an express way of getting the job done? This is because you are speaking from the heart of God with the help of the Holy Spirit who resides in you. Your life will be reformed and starts to align to the plan and purpose of God for your life.

Retrieve your axe head today, and start to cut down the trees. This is because the temple of God must be built, his sanctuary must be built, and your life must be built. His church must be built and this nation must be built.

You never need to be alone anymore

The Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth and so will guide you into all truths. He is the most reliable companion I have ever come across. Though I cannot see him, I hear his still small voice and I sometimes feel his presence. Jesus Christ said that when he leaves the earth, he will send another helper who will abide with us forever.

John 14:16 (New King James Version) “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever”

In essence Jesus is saying “I am the helper, but I will send another one who is just like me.” Although Jesus left the earth, his Spirit is still with us. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus.

Don’t you think this is good news? This is because anything that you would have discussed with Jesus when he was on earth, you can discuss it with the Holy Spirit now. You can talk with him anytime of the day and ask him any question. Distance is no barrier because he is with you and he can live in you if you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour.

When Jesus was on earth many people wanted to be near him. Some tried to touch the helm of his garment, the paralytic was let down through the roof of a house before he could be healed by Jesus. Zacchaeus had to climb a tree just to have a glimpse of him. Mary and Martha had to wait for 4 days before Jesus could come to raise Lazarus from the dead. Nicodemus could only come at night to see Jesus possibly because he wanted to avoid the comments of the other Pharisees.

The good news is that you don’t need to wait for Jesus to come, he is already here. If you are a born again Christian, then you belong to Him and he has the right to dwell in you. If you are not a born again Christian then he is with you. He however, wants you to believe in him so that he can come to reside in you.

John 14:16-17 (New King James Version) “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever — the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”

When the Holy Spirit takes up residency in you then you belong to Him. For example, when you own a house then you are expected to live in that house. People will be surprised when they see you loitering outside your house.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (New King James Version) “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

The Holy Spirit is very gentle. When you become his dwelling place, he begins to wait for you to start engaging with him; he won’t force himself on you. He will however lead and direct you as you yield to him. I heard Mike Bickle say that the best way to engage with the Holy Spirit is to talk to him. This is a true statement.

Unconsciously, we have neglected the Holy Spirit and many Christians might not talk to him throughout their Christian life. The disciples talked to him, they asked him questions and he taught them many things. They shared everything with him. There are things you share with friends and families and at the end of the day you feel worse than before.

The people you go to for help don’t even have the slightest clue to the solution of their problems. Some of them might even ridicule you. Some of them might share what you consider a secret with others. You must allow the Holy Spirit to be your confidant. He must be the first to know what is going on in your heart.

Thereafter, whatever he tells you to do, just do it. You might say “but he knows all things so he surely knows my heart so I don’t need to discuss things with him.” You are right; but until you tell him, he might not do anything about it.” I believe that the Holy Spirit tends to mind his business and only interferes when he is invited.

Matthew 7:7 (New King James Version) “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

The knowledge of man is limited but the knowledge of the Holy Spirit is vast and unlimited. He is the Spirit of God and so knows the mind of God concerning you. Start your walk with the Holy Spirit today and you will be amazed when he starts sharing the heart of God with you. There are issues in your life that you don’t know the truth about. You have since blamed your parents, your friends, your background and so on. Open up to the Holy Spirit and he will show you great and mighty things that you don’t know.

Jeremiah 33:3 (New King James Version) “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”

I have asked the Holy Spirit questions about how to tackle situations and he has answered me. Sometimes the answer comes immediately and other times it might take days. No matter the case you will always receive answers to your questions. Begin today by pouring out your heart to him, trust him and depend on him. I believe this message will quicken the Holy Spirit within you and start bringing you into a realm of divine revelation. You will never be lonely again.

The word of God in you

I encountered a divine experience two Sundays ago when upon waking up from my sleep, I saw the Bible opened before me. It was the first page in the book of Genesis. I saw the word “God” written clearly at the end of every verse. I heard a voice that said - “The signature at the end of every verse is not that of man but of God”. This experience is very real to me and I am sure that if every page of the bible had been opened to me on that day, I would have seen the name “God”  signed at the end of every verse. The bible is the word of God inspired by Him and he has put his name to it. He is saying “this is the word that has come out My mouth and I stand by it, and it cannot fail”.

The bible says that God magnifies His word above all His names. His word is true no matter what man may say. He stands by His word, he watches over His word, His word is living, powerful, and quick to accomplish what it has been sent to do.

Hebrews 4:12 (New King James Version) “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

The word of God is true and stands for ever. It has been proved and tested. God is justified by whatever He says. His word can be taken to the high court, Supreme Court, or anywhere in the world; it always shine as a light in darkness.

Psalm 18:30 (New King James Version) “As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.”

God wants his word to be in us and be part of us. He wants his word to abide in us because his word is life; and then we truly become one with Him. This makes us to be in complete fellowship with him. When we are in true fellowship with God then His will becomes our will. We become peaceful on the inside and we have complete trust and confidence in his love for us. We then have a sense of direction and clarity about things that pertain to this life.

Psalm 119:130 (New King James Version) “The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.

The only way that His word can become part of you, is by meditating on His word. Meditating on the word of God can be likened to the way you take in natural food. You spend less time drinking milk compared to eating solid food. If you want to eat meat, then you will take time to chew it properly to avoid choking on it. If you rush it, then ultimately the food will not be of any use to your body because you did not spend time to chew it appropriately.

When you are born again, your spirit man is like a little baby who needs to grow. He starts from the milk of the word but later on the milk will not be sufficient. Consequently, he will have to move on to semi-solids, and then solids. A Christian who is matured enough to eat solids but is still having the milk of the word of God will be stunted in the spirit.

Deuteronomy 8:3b (New King James Version) “Man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.”

According to Webster's dictionary, the word “Meditate” means to reflect upon, ponder, or contemplate, to plan or intend in the mind. Reflect upon means to form an image of (an object), to give back a likeness, and to think or consider seriously. To ponder means to weigh mentally, consider carefully. To contemplate means to ponder or consider thoughtfully, to regard as possible, take seriously, to intend or anticipate.

When you are reading the word of God, sometimes a verse may stand out to you. You can begin to reflect on this verse and ponder over it. The Holy Spirit usually begins to shed more light on what you are mediating about. Continue meditating until these words become part of you and then you begin to live it. If the word of God is not part of you, then to obey it becomes a burden. When his word is abiding in us, then obeying God comes naturally. His will then becomes your will and whatever you ask in the name of Jesus He will do it.

1 John 5:14-15 (New King James Version) “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”

Continue to meditate on the word of God until it becomes a light in you giving you insight into everything that pertains to this life and the kingdom of God.

2 Peter 1:19 (New King James Version) “ And so we have the prophetic word confirmed,] which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.”

Jesus is a conqueror and you are more than a conqueror

Jesus has overcome your fears, worries, anxieties, sins, debts, sicknesses. He overcame all things when he was nailed on the cross. There is a lot of conflict in the world but when you are in Jesus you will have peace that the world cannot give. There is no man who has ever said that he has overcome the world apart from our Lord Jesus Christ.

John 16:33 (New King James Version) “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

It is reasonable to commit one’s life into the hands of someone who has made the earth his foot stool.

Isaiah 66:1 (New King James Version) “Thus says the LORD: heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool.”

The brazen serpent that was lifted up in the wilderness is a symbol of Jesus lifted up on the cross with all your problems. The serpents were a great problem to the children of Israel in the wilderness. Whosoever looked unto the brazen serpent was delivered.

Numbers 21:9 (New King James Version) “So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.”

Jesus is the true saviour. He knows how you feel because he has passed through trials when he was on earth. He however, overcame all his trials even in death.

Hebrews 4:15 (New King James Version) “ For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin”.

Jesus Christ lived on the earth as a man, and he was faced with trials and temptations. Nevertheless, he was victorious in all instances. For example, when Jesus was born, Herod attempted to kill him. The Lord warned Joseph in a dream to take Jesus and his mother and escape to Egypt. When Jesus was performing miracles and teaching, the people wanted to stone him. He was however protected by the Holy Spirit because His time had not yet come. The people called Jesus a glutton, and that he was a friend of sinners. He was however reassured because he would only do what he saw his Father doing.

Jesus was referred to, indirectly as illegitimate. This did not bother him because he knows that he is the only begotten son of the Father. Jesus was tempted by the devil in the wilderness but he overcame by the word of God. Jesus’ family turned against him but those that obeyed his teachings became his brothers, mother and sisters.
The wind and the storm rose up against Jesus, but he silenced them with the words from his mouth.

The government hounded and pestered Jesus to pay tax. The provision then came through a fish. Jesus had more than enough money to pay for himself and Peter. Jesus had no transport to cross to the other side of the sea. He trusted his Father who made the sea a red carpet for Him to walk upon. In the darkest hour there was nobody to stand with Jesus in prayer. The Holy Spirit was however his helper.

Jesus’ close friends deserted him but the angels ministered to him. Jesus was stripped and flogged by the Roman soldiers. He had died to self and so did not consider his own body. People spat on Jesus and mocked him but his focus was on the joy that was set before Him.

Jesus was nailed to the cross but he rose on the third day. He now lives for evermore. His name is above any other name. At the mention of the name of Jesus every knee must bow. Jesus has overcome. If you remain in him you will always be victorious.

Romans 8:37 (New King James Version) “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

Caretakers

A man whilst walking down the road in his neighbourhood felt his pocket and could not find his purse. Suddenly, he realised that he must have left it at the laundrette a couple of minutes earlier. Immediately, he made his way back to the laundrette. On getting there, he saw the purse on one of the washing machines but as he was attempted to pick it up, another man at the laundrette did. The other man claimed the ownership of the purse. As a result of the claims of both men, a quarrel ensued and the police became involved.

The police then asked the first man to describe his purse and what he had inside. He said that the purse was made of brown leather and that he had a £5 note in it and a few coins. The other man was asked the same question. He said that the purse was brown synthetic leather and was manufactured in Brazil. Inside the purse he said that he had a £5 note folded in half, two £1 coins, two 50 pence coins, six 20 pence coins and four pennies. The other man went away with the purse because he knew in detail the exact contents of the purse.

Do you know that it is possible that you own something and still don’t know the details of what you have? Your body is a good example. You can claim that it belongs to you but still have minimal knowledge about it. The hair on your head is numbered. Do you know how many strands of hair that you have? It is not possible for you to know because it was numbered by God.

Luke 12:7 (New King James Version) “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows”.

1 Corinthians 6:19 (New King James Version) “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?”

Everything we can ever claim to have belongs to God. We brought nothing to this world and we are taking nothing out of it. I was having lunch at work one day when I suddenly realised that even the rice in my plate does not belong to me but to God. He made the rice to grow in the field. He provided money for me to buy the rice. He gave me good health to enjoy the rice.

1 Corinthians 4:7 (New King James Version) “For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?”
Your children also do not belong to you but to God. He had thoughts about them in his mind thousands of years before they were born. God has put them in your care to train them in his ways.

Psalm 127:3 (New King James Version) “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD; the fruit of the womb is a reward.”

Jeremiah 1:5a (New King James Version) “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you.”

Everything you have belongs to God. He has however made you to be a caretaker of them. Your life belongs to him and so you have no right to attempt suicide or even allow such thoughts to come to your mind. This is because you will have to give an account to God how well you have taken care of what he has given you.

John 3:27 (New King James Version) “John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.”

When you come to the understanding that you have nothing and that all things belong to God, you will not worry about anything. Everything you have, including your successes, your failures, the good, the bad and the ugly all belong to God. Your debts, worries, anxieties, fears all belong to him; he will take care of them if you allow him.

Psalm 55:22 (New King James Version) “Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.”

Why DIY?

There are many reasons why DIY is good. Many people believe that it’s only about saving money; however there are many other reasons. Through DIY, you are able to acquire knowledge and new skills. There is also the satisfaction that you have been able to achieve something yourself.

I will like to introduce you to the source of divine power. Through Him you will achieve more than you can ever imagine. He wants you to rely on Him and allow Him to do things through you. God is the source of Power, and He holds all things by the power of His word.

It cost God a lot to get you saved. He started to plan your salvation before the foundation of the world. He had to get a body prepared for himself because He was coming to the world. It cost Him His life. It was a great suffering that He went through. I have a question for you. Where were you when God was preparing all this? I have recently come to the conclusion that if God did all these for me then my life depends on Him.

God died for you to pay the penalty for your sins. This is to enable you to come to a relationship with Him. When He was in the world, His name was Jesus Christ. God wants you to believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus, so that so that you will be born of God which is the second birth. Once you are born of God, he takes His residence in you and He begins to lead and guide you as you rely on Him. He is the light and outside of Him is darkness. That is why you need to be in Him to be able to walk in His light.

Isaiah 42:16 (New King James Version) “I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, and not forsake them”.

You cannot do enough on your own to please God. Jesus Christ has done all that needs to be done. The only thing the He requires of you is to believe. He wants you to rest in His complete work. You declare to God that you believe in the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ when you rely on Him completely for everything. You then become a partaker of His death and resurrection. We are only accepted by God when we remain in Jesus Christ who is the beloved Son of God. (Mathew 17:5)

Ephesians 1:6b (New King James Version) “He made us accepted in the Beloved”.

Jesus said you must deny yourself, take up our cross daily and follow Him (Luke 9:23). Anyone who is taking his cross is preparing to die just as Jesus took up His cross and died on it. You become crucified in Jesus on the cross. When your hands are nailed to the cross, you cease from your own works. When your feet are nailed to the cross you cease from your walks. Jesus however rose from the dead and you rose in Him. He is now sitting in the heavenly places at the right hand of God and you are seated with Him. You remain in Him but He now begins to do the work while you rest in Him. His feet become yours, His hands become yours, His eyes become yours, and His mind becomes yours. You become like a glove in His hand.

Galatians 2:20 (New King James Version) “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me”.

Allow God to do His perfect work in you. He has been around for much longer than you can ever imagine. He knows the end from the beginning and the beginning from the end. Remember that you are a human being and not a human doing.

Enjoy the blessings of God.

Your marriage needs maintenance

If you are married, I believe that this is a good blog for you to read. This is because if you keep the advice given, you will not find yourself down the memory lane of divorce. However, if you are already divorced, then your eyes will be opened to the will of God concerning your life. As you begin to seek God in this area, I believe that what you have lost will be restored back to you.

It is very alarming that the divorce rate in the church is the same as it is in the world. Many well known church ministers have gone through divorce at least once in their life time. Quite a number have gone ahead to remarry even when their ex spouses are still alive. On the other hand, some ministers of God believe that they will excel better in ministry without their spouses. This thought is a great deception from the enemy.

Is divorce the right way out of a terrible marriage? What is the mind of God about all this?

Job (the rich righteous man in the bible) did not divorce his wife even though she told him to curse God and die when he was going through trials. When Job overcame all his trials, it was the same wife that gave birth to the 2nd set of children that he had.

God sees married couples as one body and not two. Therefore, he expects them to look out and pray for each other. When you are praying for your husband or wife, then you are praying for yourself. Their honour is your honour. If you do anything to dishonour your wife or husband, then you are shooting yourself in the leg.

The husband is the head and his wife is the body. If the head is not functioning well, the body will feel it. If the body is not functioning well the head will feel it. It is not possible for the head to move without the body and neither can the body move without the head. As a result of this, they must be united in their decisions and actions. They must relate to each other in love. Anything done outside of love is not pleasing to God. It will be very difficult to love your husband, if you do not know and experience the love of God. Do you really believe that God loves you unconditionally? Do you believe that He loves you in spite of yourself? Knowing the love of God must be your prayer. The more you have the revelation of the love of God, the more you will love your spouse.

Ephesians 5:25 & 28 – “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself”.

Ephesians 5:22 – “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord”.

I have written this blog not because my marriage is perfect but because it has been much better by applying the word of God. I was in the bath a couple of months ago, when I noticed that the lower end of the shower curtain was very dirty and had become brown in colour. The first thought that came to my mind was to throw it away and buy another one. However I changed my mind and decided to soak it in a bleach solution. I did this and to my amazement, the shower curtain came out as new within 10 minutes.

Maintaining the shower curtain saved me the trouble of going out for shopping and I was able to avoid needlessly spending money. Almost immediately, the Lord drew my attention to my marriage. He said it needs to be maintained with the word of God. Every marriage needs to be maintained by the word of God. The word of God has been likened to water that cleanses. It is necessary to declare what the word of God says about your marriage. Within a short time, you will be surprised by the transformation that takes place. This is because the word of God is living and it has the ability to reproduce itself wherever it is applied in faith.

Ephesians 5:25-26 - (NKJV) "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word".

If the church is made holy by the power of the word of God, likewise every marriage can be made holy by the power in the word of God. From the above passage, you will realise that it is Christ that cleanses the church by the word of God. So, it is the responsibility of the husband to cleanse his marriage continually with the word of God. The wives can do this together with their husbands or even do it alone if their husbands have not yet had the understanding of the word of God.

Wives can confess these bible verses regularly
