Caretakers

A man whilst walking down the road in his neighbourhood felt his pocket and could not find his purse. Suddenly, he realised that he must have left it at the laundrette a couple of minutes earlier. Immediately, he made his way back to the laundrette. On getting there, he saw the purse on one of the washing machines but as he was attempted to pick it up, another man at the laundrette did. The other man claimed the ownership of the purse. As a result of the claims of both men, a quarrel ensued and the police became involved.

The police then asked the first man to describe his purse and what he had inside. He said that the purse was made of brown leather and that he had a £5 note in it and a few coins. The other man was asked the same question. He said that the purse was brown synthetic leather and was manufactured in Brazil. Inside the purse he said that he had a £5 note folded in half, two £1 coins, two 50 pence coins, six 20 pence coins and four pennies. The other man went away with the purse because he knew in detail the exact contents of the purse.

Do you know that it is possible that you own something and still don’t know the details of what you have? Your body is a good example. You can claim that it belongs to you but still have minimal knowledge about it. The hair on your head is numbered. Do you know how many strands of hair that you have? It is not possible for you to know because it was numbered by God.

Luke 12:7 (New King James Version) “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows”.

1 Corinthians 6:19 (New King James Version) “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?”

Everything we can ever claim to have belongs to God. We brought nothing to this world and we are taking nothing out of it. I was having lunch at work one day when I suddenly realised that even the rice in my plate does not belong to me but to God. He made the rice to grow in the field. He provided money for me to buy the rice. He gave me good health to enjoy the rice.

1 Corinthians 4:7 (New King James Version) “For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?”
Your children also do not belong to you but to God. He had thoughts about them in his mind thousands of years before they were born. God has put them in your care to train them in his ways.

Psalm 127:3 (New King James Version) “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD; the fruit of the womb is a reward.”

Jeremiah 1:5a (New King James Version) “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you.”

Everything you have belongs to God. He has however made you to be a caretaker of them. Your life belongs to him and so you have no right to attempt suicide or even allow such thoughts to come to your mind. This is because you will have to give an account to God how well you have taken care of what he has given you.

John 3:27 (New King James Version) “John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.”

When you come to the understanding that you have nothing and that all things belong to God, you will not worry about anything. Everything you have, including your successes, your failures, the good, the bad and the ugly all belong to God. Your debts, worries, anxieties, fears all belong to him; he will take care of them if you allow him.

Psalm 55:22 (New King James Version) “Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.”

Why DIY?

There are many reasons why DIY is good. Many people believe that it’s only about saving money; however there are many other reasons. Through DIY, you are able to acquire knowledge and new skills. There is also the satisfaction that you have been able to achieve something yourself.

I will like to introduce you to the source of divine power. Through Him you will achieve more than you can ever imagine. He wants you to rely on Him and allow Him to do things through you. God is the source of Power, and He holds all things by the power of His word.

It cost God a lot to get you saved. He started to plan your salvation before the foundation of the world. He had to get a body prepared for himself because He was coming to the world. It cost Him His life. It was a great suffering that He went through. I have a question for you. Where were you when God was preparing all this? I have recently come to the conclusion that if God did all these for me then my life depends on Him.

God died for you to pay the penalty for your sins. This is to enable you to come to a relationship with Him. When He was in the world, His name was Jesus Christ. God wants you to believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus, so that so that you will be born of God which is the second birth. Once you are born of God, he takes His residence in you and He begins to lead and guide you as you rely on Him. He is the light and outside of Him is darkness. That is why you need to be in Him to be able to walk in His light.

Isaiah 42:16 (New King James Version) “I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, and not forsake them”.

You cannot do enough on your own to please God. Jesus Christ has done all that needs to be done. The only thing the He requires of you is to believe. He wants you to rest in His complete work. You declare to God that you believe in the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ when you rely on Him completely for everything. You then become a partaker of His death and resurrection. We are only accepted by God when we remain in Jesus Christ who is the beloved Son of God. (Mathew 17:5)

Ephesians 1:6b (New King James Version) “He made us accepted in the Beloved”.

Jesus said you must deny yourself, take up our cross daily and follow Him (Luke 9:23). Anyone who is taking his cross is preparing to die just as Jesus took up His cross and died on it. You become crucified in Jesus on the cross. When your hands are nailed to the cross, you cease from your own works. When your feet are nailed to the cross you cease from your walks. Jesus however rose from the dead and you rose in Him. He is now sitting in the heavenly places at the right hand of God and you are seated with Him. You remain in Him but He now begins to do the work while you rest in Him. His feet become yours, His hands become yours, His eyes become yours, and His mind becomes yours. You become like a glove in His hand.

Galatians 2:20 (New King James Version) “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me”.

Allow God to do His perfect work in you. He has been around for much longer than you can ever imagine. He knows the end from the beginning and the beginning from the end. Remember that you are a human being and not a human doing.

Enjoy the blessings of God.

Your marriage needs maintenance

If you are married, I believe that this is a good blog for you to read. This is because if you keep the advice given, you will not find yourself down the memory lane of divorce. However, if you are already divorced, then your eyes will be opened to the will of God concerning your life. As you begin to seek God in this area, I believe that what you have lost will be restored back to you.

It is very alarming that the divorce rate in the church is the same as it is in the world. Many well known church ministers have gone through divorce at least once in their life time. Quite a number have gone ahead to remarry even when their ex spouses are still alive. On the other hand, some ministers of God believe that they will excel better in ministry without their spouses. This thought is a great deception from the enemy.

Is divorce the right way out of a terrible marriage? What is the mind of God about all this?

Job (the rich righteous man in the bible) did not divorce his wife even though she told him to curse God and die when he was going through trials. When Job overcame all his trials, it was the same wife that gave birth to the 2nd set of children that he had.

God sees married couples as one body and not two. Therefore, he expects them to look out and pray for each other. When you are praying for your husband or wife, then you are praying for yourself. Their honour is your honour. If you do anything to dishonour your wife or husband, then you are shooting yourself in the leg.

The husband is the head and his wife is the body. If the head is not functioning well, the body will feel it. If the body is not functioning well the head will feel it. It is not possible for the head to move without the body and neither can the body move without the head. As a result of this, they must be united in their decisions and actions. They must relate to each other in love. Anything done outside of love is not pleasing to God. It will be very difficult to love your husband, if you do not know and experience the love of God. Do you really believe that God loves you unconditionally? Do you believe that He loves you in spite of yourself? Knowing the love of God must be your prayer. The more you have the revelation of the love of God, the more you will love your spouse.

Ephesians 5:25 & 28 – “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself”.

Ephesians 5:22 – “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord”.

I have written this blog not because my marriage is perfect but because it has been much better by applying the word of God. I was in the bath a couple of months ago, when I noticed that the lower end of the shower curtain was very dirty and had become brown in colour. The first thought that came to my mind was to throw it away and buy another one. However I changed my mind and decided to soak it in a bleach solution. I did this and to my amazement, the shower curtain came out as new within 10 minutes.

Maintaining the shower curtain saved me the trouble of going out for shopping and I was able to avoid needlessly spending money. Almost immediately, the Lord drew my attention to my marriage. He said it needs to be maintained with the word of God. Every marriage needs to be maintained by the word of God. The word of God has been likened to water that cleanses. It is necessary to declare what the word of God says about your marriage. Within a short time, you will be surprised by the transformation that takes place. This is because the word of God is living and it has the ability to reproduce itself wherever it is applied in faith.

Ephesians 5:25-26 - (NKJV) "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word".

If the church is made holy by the power of the word of God, likewise every marriage can be made holy by the power in the word of God. From the above passage, you will realise that it is Christ that cleanses the church by the word of God. So, it is the responsibility of the husband to cleanse his marriage continually with the word of God. The wives can do this together with their husbands or even do it alone if their husbands have not yet had the understanding of the word of God.

Wives can confess these bible verses regularly

My husband loves me as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25)
My husband loves me as he loves himself (Ephesians 5:28)
Our marriage bed is not defiled (Hebrews 13:4)
My husband has the mind of Christ (1Corinthians 2:16)
My husband has left his parents and has now clung to me (Genesis 2:24)
I have a covenant of love with my husband (Malachi 2:14)
My husband’s body belongs to me alone (1Corinthians 7:4)

Husbands can confess these bible passages regularly

I love my wife as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25)
I love my wife as myself (Ephesians 5:28)
I have left my father and mother and now cling to my wife (Genesis 2:24)
I am now one with my wife (Ephesians 5:31)
My wife respects me (Ephesians 5:33)
Our marriage bed is undefiled (Hebrews 13:4)
My wife has the mind of Christ (1Corinthians 2:16)
I have a covenant of love with my wife (Malachi 2:14)
My wife’s body belong to me alone (1Corinthians 7:4)

2011 - The Year of Great Possibilities in Christ

The whole world lies in wickedness and things will continue to get worse. However in Christ, all things are possible for them that believe. The world system has taken a nosedive but the kingdom of God remains the same. When the world hits a rock and can’t get anything out of it, out of that same rock, the Lord will bring honey out for you. The Lord will do a powerful work in your life in this New Year. He will do a quick work by the swiftness of his word. This is because His word is powerful and moves faster than the speed of light.

Psalm 147:15 - “He sends out His command to the earth; His word runs very swiftly”.

The Lord will revive every good thing that is dead in your life by the power of his word. The same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead will accomplish this. Dead projects, visions and dreams will be revived. Dead organs of the body including dead wombs will be revived. Dead marriages and relationships will be revived. Every good thing in your life that is dead will hear the voice of God and live. God will start working in your life and take over where the wisdom of man has failed.

John 5:25 - “Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live”.

The Lord will bring solution to all confusion in your life. There will be solution to confusion in the mind, confusion at home or at work. Have you reached a cross road and don’t know which way to go? The Lord will guide you by his wisdom.

Psalm 32:8 - “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with my eye”.

The Lord will reveal to you every secret that you need to know in order to excel this year. The works of the devil in your life will be rendered useless. The peace of God like a river will flood your heart. People will not understand this peace and neither will you. Nothing shall be impossible to those that believe. The sky is the limit for you; don’t limit what God can do.

There is however a simple condition that needs to be fulfilled in order to enjoy the promises of God. The Lord wants you to enter into His rest. This means that you must rely on him, trust him and be like a child that is dependent on his dad. God’s ability is manifested in those people that recognise their inability. Stop depending on your energy or intellect but instead depend on the Spirit of God. You need to come to a place of total reliance on God. Lay all your life before Him and allow Him to be your Lord and master.

Psalm 37:7a - “Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him”.

You need to hold on to the promises of God concerning your life. Speak the word of God into every area of your life. Be fully persuaded that what God has said will surely come to pass. Meditate on these promises as often as possible and within a short time the word you are confessing will reproduce itself in your life.

This year, you are going to hear the voice of God clearly. He will ask you to do things that sometimes might seem foolish to you. I want you to know that the foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of men. Obey the voice of God and you will see great wonders manifest in your life. Do not harden your heart through unbelief.

Hebrews 4:7b - “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.”

The place of rest in God is the place of prayer. Do not allow negative thoughts or evil counsel to hinder you. Enter into the place of prayer and make your request known unto God. Jesus feels what you feel and because of this He will do something about your case as quickly as you learn to trust and depend on Him. This year, you need the grace of God and His mercy. They are however available in the place of total dependence on Him.

Hebrews 4:15-16 - “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need”.

This year, you need to praise God more than before. Praise Him for His greatness and for great things he has done that will manifest in your life. Don’t wait until your blessings and miracles manifest in the physical realm before you praise him. When you praise him you are entering into His rest.

Psalm 100:4 - “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name”.

The Lord is faithful and His thoughts towards you are good. He will surely accomplish what He has promised. I pray that as you delight yourself in the Lord He will give you all the desires of your heart.
Have a prosperous New Year.

Preparing for year 2011

The year 2010 is coming to end and this is the last week. It is worth giving glory to God for keeping you safe and in good health throughout the year. If this year has been a rough one for you, God wants you to rely completely on Him so that you can have a smooth sail through the year 2011.

Many people struggle with habits and addictions. They however make up their minds that from the New Year they will be better disciplined. They then decide to make a “New Year resolution”. This resolution, most times do not last for more than 6 months. You may be wondering by now and asking the question, “What is the way forward”?

There is a truth that many people find difficult to accept. The truth is that man does not have any power to change his ways. Power only comes as a gift from God to anyone who believes in Jesus as his Lord and saviour.

John 1:12 - “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”.

If you are willing to live a life that you were born to live, then you need God’s help. He is very willing to help you. He wants you to come into a close relationship with him. As soon as you accept Him as your Lord, He comes to reside in you.

John 14:23 - “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him”.

As soon as the Lord comes to live in you, you are required to be completely dependent on Him. He wants you to come to a place of total abandonment in him and this is a place of rest. Allow Him to live through you so that you can leave that life that you are struggling with. He wants you to die to self and rely completely in Him.

Acts 17:28a - “For in him we live, and move, and have our being”

The above scripture has the ability to reproduce itself in your life as you meditate on it all the time. There is power in this verse of scripture to renew your mind and transform your life. “In God you live, in Him you move and in Him you have your being”. Even when you are still struggling with your habits, do not stop meditating on the word of God. The word of God will start changing you from the inside and the way you think starts to change. Within a short time, your transformation will be evident to everybody.

Year 2011 is your year of complete breakthrough. Once you are born of God you have already overcome the world. Through your faith in Christ you already have victory over all your circumstances. Have a wonderful and prosperous New Year.

The Best Gift

Wow its Christmas again! As you know, the Christmas period is a very colourful time of the year. The streets and shopping malls are well decorated and there are bright lights everywhere. Many homes are also decorated and the Christmas tree is usually placed in a corner in the living room. Under the Christmas tree are the gifts that children believe that Santa has brought for them.

A lot of people are now on a shopping spree. Most of them would have finished buying gifts for their loved ones. The last minute shopping is usually for groceries and of course the “Christmas turkey”. Every year people exchange gifts. I am sure you have spent some money in buying gifts for your loved ones. What kind of gifts are you expecting this year?

Cast your mind back to last year Christmas. Can you remember how much you cherished the gifts that you received? Where are the gifts now? Do you still cherish them as you did last year? Have you noticed that after the New Year, the excitement of Christmas dies down and life continues as usual?

It will be nice to imagine receiving a gift that you can cherish forever. This kind of gift must be of “great value”. You may think that this gift is pure gold or diamond. As a matter of fact, it’s far much better than that. I received this gift twenty- two years ago and I have always cherished it. This gift changed my life. This gift is with me everywhere I go. I feel contented with it and I have since had peace in my heart even in times of challenging situations.

John 3:16 -“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.

The gift that I am talking about is actually God himself. He came to the world in the form of a person whose name is Jesus Christ. He came to sort out the problem of sin once and for all. Sin has brought a lot of problems to the world. Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden and the human race has since inherited the nature of sin.

Romans 3:23 -“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”.

The penalty for their sin is death. It is not possible for any man to save you because every man was born a sinner. That is why the Saviour of the world had to be born of a virgin woman; so that there won’t be any contamination from the seed of man. Jesus Christ paid the full penalty for your sin by dying on the cross. It was your sin that nailed Jesus Christ to the cross. Once you believe that Jesus Christ died for your sin and you confess Him as your Lord and Saviour, you will receive the free gift of salvation. Jesus Christ has paid the penalty for all your sins past, present and future.

Romans 6:23 -“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”.

Once you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour, you become righteous in the sight of God.

2 Corinthians 5:21- “For He has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”.

You can make the best decision of your life today by accepting the best gift. You must realise that you are a sinner and that you need a saviour. Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for you to bring you back into a relationship with God. Confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is your Lord and saviour and you will be saved from your sins.

Romans 10:9 - “That if you will confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and will believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved”.

Enjoy your gift and do not let it slip away from you. This is the best gift ever. Have a wonderful Christmas and spread the good news.

Seek first the Kingdom of God

This is a very common statement from the bible which is often quoted by the body of Christ. Every man on the face of this earth has been asked to seek the kingdom of God for all their needs. Everything we need to enjoy life and live a godly life can only be found in the kingdom of God. Seeking the kingdom of God is finding out the will of God and doing it. For example, if you want to find out how something works, you need to follow the manufacturer’s manual. It is the will of God for you to be saved, so find out how to be saved from His book.

Salvation means deliverance from sin and death. The consequences of sin are sickness, poverty, rejection, addiction, condemnation, slavery, bitterness, hatred, all the works of the flesh and ultimately death. Sin is man’s nature and the only solution is found in God.

Matthew 6:33 - “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”.

There is no righteous man on the face of the earth. God is the only one who is righteous. God in the person of Jesus Christ however became sin for you. All your sins were put on him on the cross and he paid the full penalty for your sin by dying on the cross. Righteousness is a gift from God and so cannot be attained by your performance but by what Jesus Christ has done. The righteousness of God is a gift which is received by faith in what Jesus Christ has done. Jesus Christ is the righteousness of God. Seeking God’s righteousness is having trust and confidence in Jesus. You have to be fully persuaded that Jesus is all you need and you totally rely on him.

Romans 3:22 - “Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference”.

Seeking the kingdom of God is remaining in relationship in him. He becomes your shepherd according to Psalm 23. When the Lord is your shepherd, you cannot lack any good thing. When you are focused on God, you won’t need to struggle to get your needs met. When you seek after things, you end up spending unnecessary time and effort. You become stressed out and sometimes you don’t get the best from what you have laboured for.

The Lord is omnipotent and omniscient. He knows where the biggest fishes are and how to catch them. Seeking God makes your ear sensitive and you are able to hear him clearly as he leads and guides you.

Psalm 32:8 - “I will instruct you and teach you in the way which thou shall go: I will guide you with My eye”.

There is peace for those who put their trust in God. Good health, prosperity, power, wisdom, long life etc are all found in Him. When you are in Him, all these things are yours to enjoy.

Isaiah 26:3 - “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you”.

The devil cannot stop you from seeking God’s kingdom if you so desire. This is because the word of God cannot be broken. Nothing can separate you from the love of God

Romans 8:35,38-39 -“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come”. Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”.

The devil might stop you from getting things, but he cannot stop you from getting God. Once you are totally dependent on God, those things you desire will start to follow you. The things that follow you cannot be stopped by the devil because the word of God cannot be broken.

Matthew 6:33 - “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”.

To conclude, as long as you are seeking God’s kingdom, blessings will continue to follow you and the devil will have no power to stop these blessings. Quit seeking things and start seeking God.
